Abused the campaign funds, the CEC is expected to fine the SP with 50 million ALL. Only one party was found correct
The Central Election Commission is expected to punish political parties that abused funds during the April 25 campaign.
According to the CEC report, all subjects have violated the law and should be fined according to the Electoral Code. The only party that has been found to be correct for electoral expenses is LSI, writes ABC.
The report of the CEC identifies the Socialist Party as the entity that should receive the largest fine, a full 50 million old ALL.
This, as stated in the document, "Socialist Party of Albania" has exceeded the maximum limit of expenses for the election campaign. The allowed amount of expenses must not be more than 3 times greater than the highest amount that an electoral subject received from public funds for election purposes. According to the calculations, SP exceeded the limit by 45 million old ALL.
According to the Electoral Code, such a violation is punishable by a fine of 50 million old lek.
The Chief Commissioner tells ABC that this process will not be delayed. The second largest party also has a violation: "Democratic Party". It has not submitted the reports for 69 candidates of the multi-name lists. For this violation, Celibashi is expected to fine the PD in a margin between 5-10 million old lek according to the provisions of the Electoral Code.
