Albanian wanted for dog trafficking arrested in Germany

On Saturday evening, officers of the Federal Police of Waidhaus in Germany arrested a 25-year-old Albanian during a border check on the A6 near Waidhaus, as he was on an international wanted list.

According to the Federal Police press release, the Albanian was wanted by Belgian authorities with a European arrest warrant for drug trafficking and membership in an organized criminal group.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect had presented an expired German residence permit, which did not help him evade arrest. After his arrest, he appeared before an investigating judge and was handed over to the custody of the judicial authorities.

The 25-year-old is currently in a correctional facility in Nuremberg, where he is awaiting extradition to Belgium, where he will face charges of drug trafficking and participation in an organized criminal group.
