The Democratic candidate for president in the USA, Kamala Harris, has addressed a letter to the Albanian community in America, where she asks for their vote, as she evaluates the ties between the two countries.
"Albanians in America have made valuable contributions to our nation for generations, showing a deep commitment to family, community and the struggle for freedom. There are hundreds of thousands of Albanians living in the United States, and the resilience of the American Albanian community continues to inspire us all ," Harris begins her letter.
She appreciates the continuous contribution of the Albanian-American community, where according to her, from workers, small businesses, they have already reached different professions, in medicine, in law, and everywhere in public services.
" Albanians have contributed deeply to the fabric of our nation, enriching communities with their entrepreneurial spirit, strong family values and deep commitment to education and civic engagement.
From small business owners to professionals in medicine, law and public service, Albanian Americans have played a key role in developing local economies and strengthening the social fabric of towns and villages across the country."
Harris emphasizes the strong partnership between the United States and Albania as a staunch NATO ally and promoter of stability in the region.
"Albania is a stable NATO ally, and I am grateful to Albania for promoting stability in the region, as well as for its leadership in the UN Security Council in the months following Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine." Harris wrote.
She further writes that the US will continue to support Kosovo as a multi-ethnic and democratic country, fully integrated in the international community.
"The United States has also led European allies and partners to support the Independence and historic sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo and continues to support a multi-ethnic and democratic Kosovo, fully integrated into the international community," Harris writes.
