Today, the Serbian police detained the Director of the House of Culture in Bujanoc, Serbia, Jetmir Ismail.

His ban came after he gave approval for the screening of two film projects supported by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Albanian National Council. The films "The silence that kills" and "The unfaithful" should be shown today, June 10, in Bujanoc.

The news was given on Friday evening by Nevzad Lutfiu, coordinator of the House of Culture in Bujanoc, Serbia, who called on the international factor to react to this act of the Serbian Police.

In the announcement accompanied by photographs, Mr. Lutfiu says:

"Today, the Serbian police, by order of the prosecutor, took the director of the House of Culture, Jetmir Ismail, to his house in Nesalca. He is currently being held at the police station in Bujanoc.

According to family members, he was taken to the police station to be interviewed about the showing of a short film, which was supported by the Government of Kosovo through the Albanian National Council and which the director of the House of Culture in Bujanoc gave permission to to be promoted tomorrow at the House of Culture in Bujanoc.

This pressure and these methods against the Albanians are proving that Serbia does not want peace and the future in the Balkans.

Scenarios with such pressures on institutions and on Albanians are unacceptable and we invite all national and international factors to condemn this action of the Serbian police, especially in such cases and especially in today's case".
