An explanation for the "Keneta Owl" and a piece of advice for Mr. Prime Minister

An explanation for the "Keneta Owl" and a piece of advice for Mr.

From the Forum for the Protection of Cultural Heritage
In today's very significant post by the Prime Minister, as a political allegory, a bird called the "Marsh Owl" was mentioned as a negative and harmful species for the environment. By consulting with specialists in the field, we would like to advise Mr. Prime Minister that:
- According to the literature published in the Guide "Birds of Albania" we can say that the species named "Marsh Owl" does not exist in Albania.

The photo of the post is actually the Little Owl or known by its scientific name (Athene noctua) or in English the Little Owl.
This bird is quite widespread in rural areas of Albania and is very beneficial for the environment as it feeds on reptiles and mice. It is not mentioned as a predatory species so much as against domestic birds. According to scientific studies, it has a key role in maintaining the balance of rodent populations, mainly mice, which are vectors of the transmission of many diseases.
If there were no owls, the population of urban rodents would increase to such levels that it would become threatening to human health and life. There is no scientific study to prove that the Owl is a bird that accumulates pesticides or toxins and even more so to be hostile and poisonous to diversity. On the contrary, Mr. Prime Minister, if the Owl did not exist in Albania, mice would have drowned us.
- Expressing our consideration for the interest of Mr. Prime Minister in the environment, we can say that as a result of the lack of specialists in the administration, the information provided is completely wrong. Even more so when you consider that Albanian taxpayers contribute to keeping the Ministry of Environment afloat, which cannot provide the Prime Minister of the country with accurate information even about an Owl.
PS. According to specialists in the field, the cry of the bird in the video posted by the PM is not the voice of an Owl, but of another bird.
Below we are publishing the list of Owls and Owls that have been identified in the Albanian territory: great horned owl, long-eared owl, short-eared owl, little owl, snowy owl, Ural owl, forest owl, great-headed owl, bearded owl.
