An arsenal is seized in Athens, 5 people are arrested, including an Albanian

The Greek police in Athens have seized a large arsenal of weapons and explosive materials, after checks carried out in three apartments and two basements.

During the operation, five people were arrested, all suspected of being part of a criminal group that trafficked and sold weapons and explosives. Among those arrested are four Greek citizens, aged 31-56, and a 25-year-old woman of Albanian origin, Zoi Zoto, born in Piraeus and originally from Korça.

During the search, the police found and seized 25 military explosives, 60 kg of ammonium, 4 explosives, 7 flame-resistant casings, 2 detonators, 5925 cartridges for various weapons, 2 guns, 1 automatic weapon, 6 revolvers, 5 pistols, a pairs, a carbine, 38 gun combs of various calibers, 3 silencers, a bulletproof vest, a sword, 3 knives and gun parts.

Also, the police found and confiscated 530 narcotic tablets, metal detectors, 57 gold coins, 510 British pounds worth over 420 thousand euros, sterling and English pounds, silver and antique Greek coins, dozens of jewelry, over 23 thousand euros, some coins of 2 euros each, 11 cell phones, two laptops, a laser engraving machine for weapons, a GPS tracker, as well as various notes.
