150 cannabis plants are seized in Peqin, 5 arrested

Cannabis narcotic plants in the process of drying, cannabis narcotic substance divided into doses, a large amount of money in lek, euros and pounds profited from this criminal activity, and a cold weapon (knife) were seized.

The Narcotics Investigation Sector of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate in the framework of a criminal proceeding followed with proactive methods, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, based on the information gathered as a result of the investigation, in cooperation with the services of the Special Force "Shqiponja" ", of the Operational Force of DVP Elbasan, and the National Security Force Unit Tirana, successfully organized and finalized the police anti-drug operation coded "Vashaj".

In the framework of this operation in the village of Vashaj, Peqin, 2 cases of cultivation, production and sale of narcotics were investigated, cases for which the citizens were caught and arrested in the act:

- SB, 62 years old and RB, 23 years old (father and son), since during the search in the residence of these citizens and around it, 150 narcotic plants were found, most of them cultivated in the ground and part of the plants in the process of drying, a quantity of cannabis for sale, 2,600,000 new leks, 3,890 euros and 6,770 pounds, suspected to have benefited from this criminal activity and 1 knife, which were seized as material evidence;

- K. Sh., 58 years old, M. Sh., 34 years old and E. Sh., 19 years old (father, son and grandson), as several cannabis plants were found in the premises around the residence of citizen K. Sh. drying process, as well as a quantity of cannabis ready for sale, which were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Unauthorized production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons.
