Albania ranks first in Europe for gun deaths

Albania is ranked first in Europe according to the rate of deaths from firearms, according to the analysis of the statistical portal " Landgeist ", based on the data of the International Institute for Health Measurement and Evaluation based at Seattle University during this year. 

The rate of gun deaths is highest in Albania (24.82), Turkey (17.44) and Montenegro (7.82).

The lowest rates can be found in the UK (0.19), Norway (0.54) and San Marino (0.56). Interestingly, the UK and Norway (and also Iceland (0.72) and Ireland (1.35)) are also the only countries in Europe where the police do not carry any weapons. 

Therefore, suicides by firearm are not included in this map.
