The McGonigal, Shabani scandal: Rama can be taken to the USA in handcuffs

Endri Shabani from the 'Thurje' initiative has commented on the involvement of Prime Minister Edi Rama in the McGonigal case. He said that in a democratic country, the prime minister would have been removed.

He further added that Rama does not have to leave, because that is the only way he can escape prison. Shabani declared for "News24" that Rama cannot escape, stressing that the minimum will be declared 'non grata', while the maximum can be his handcuffs and escort to the United States.

"We are dealing with a situation where the prime minister had to resign in a democratic country, because he is in a big scandal and he cannot fully engage because of his own problems. The second is that if Rama were an ordinary citizen, he would be taken as a witness, he would be placed at the disposal of justice, whether or not he is responsible. That would be enough for him to resign.

Now he has more reason to stay prime minister because it is the only way to stay out of jail and out of punishment. They want power to save themselves, not to develop the country. Rama does not seem very calm to me.

In my opinion, I don't see why he shouldn't get a non grata, at most they will come and handcuff him here. The minimum is to declare him non grata", he added.
