European athlete Luiza Gega qualifies for the Munich 2022 final

Luiza Gega was confirmed as one of the strongest athletes on the continent. The Albanian champion won the first round of the 3,000-meter steeplechase race and thus secured a place in the final of the European Athletics "Munich 2022". After conserving energy, Luiza started to break away in the middle of the race, leaving no chance for her rivals to react. In the only moment of uncertainty, where she turned her head back to check on the other contestants, her followers approached her. However, Gega recovered the distance and crossed the finish line first.

The Albanian record holder recorded a time of 9 minutes, 30 seconds and 93 hundredths and will now aim for the European gold medal. Although at the age of 33, the Albanian athlete is looking for the top of the podium, for a title she lacks. In 2016, Luiza managed to win the silver medal at the European Championships that took place in Amsterdam. Expectations are high, also from Gega's extraordinary performances during this edition. Last June, she placed fifth in the Athletics World Championships, held in Oregon, United States.

Luiza has also won two gold medals at the Craiova 2022 Balkan Games, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter race. She also triumphed in the Mediterranean Games "Oran 2022", where she won gold medals.
