What is 'Micromance'? The dating trend in 2025

Today we are not living an easy life of meetings and acquaintances, as we are more often faced with what we call red flags.

We think we'll experience butterflies in our stomach, but in reality, ghosting happens. You start a conversation with a person and suddenly they disappear. We think that the right person should shower us with attention, but now love bombing happens, the great attention is accompanied by other consequences. So even the most important romantic gestures are now viewed with a certain suspicion. But what is left then? A study tells us that not all is lost: by 2025, micromanages will save us from cynicism.

What is Micromanca? The Dating Trend of 2025

Dating app Bumble conducted a survey of 40,000 users and used it to predict dating trends for 2025.

There is light beyond the darkness, but some beliefs must be uprooted to start over!

Almost 2 in 3 women (64%) say they are more honest with themselves and no longer want to compromise. People are increasingly transparent, mindful of the future, and taking the time to find someone who shares their interests.

It is precisely in this context that the trend of micro-romanticism fits in, bringing back into fashion romance cleansed of toxicity and selfishness.

Over half (52%) of women globally define themselves as romantic, and for 1 in 3 women (37%) the lack of romance has had a negative impact on their love life.

But can you be romantic in an authentic and intimate way? That's the challenge of 2025.

No more sensational gestures, expensive dinners, gifts, and public statements.

From next year, feelings will be expressed through small, everyday gestures of care, but not only that, a little imagination is also important.

A majority (86%) of singles surveyed by Bumble agree that the way we show love and affection now includes behaviors like sending memes, sharing a playlist, or a simple home-cooked dinner. If he invites you for a morning walk over coffee, it's an instant green flag.
