Today, the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana presented the claim for the sensational event that involved Prince Leka, his ex-wife Elia Zaharia and her father, Gjergj Zaharia. The conflict, which took place on March 25 at the Royal Court, became public after a video filmed by Prince Leka himself, where he clashed with Elia and his former father-in-law. The three have filed complaints against each other, taking the case to court.

The prosecution requested a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison for Prince Leka, 6 months for Elia Zaharia and 1 year for her father. The prosecuting authority has proposed that, if they are found guilty, their sentence will be converted to probation.

In a statement to Euronews Albania, Elia Zaharia said that he has no comment on the case and that he is following the process in silence. Next, she mentioned her commitment to the 27th Book Fair, inviting citizens to participate in this cultural event.

" I am fine, today I was present after the opening of the fair and I will be there for 3 days in a row in daily attendance. I had the pleasure and privilege to present the opening of the 27th Book Fair. The comment I have is that I invite everyone to these 5 days of celebration in the biggest cultural event in the country. The book is the best friend, it enables you to live many lives. I'm sorry but I have no comment, the case is under trial, I silently respect the process , "said Zaharia.

The Tirana court is expected to deliver the decision on December 13, while the case is being examined by judge Migena Laska. All three involved are accused of the criminal offense of "domestic violence" and are being tried in a shortened procedure.
