Balla admits failure: We are far from the objective of making the police the

The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has accepted the failure with the State Police, in terms of reliability as an institution.

In a statement to the media, while talking about the self-cleaning form, Balla admitted that they are still far from the goal of making the police the most trusted institution.

"We will do everything related to our basic goal, to guarantee that every citizen has faith in the state police, and the strengthening of this faith is related to our efforts to further the process of self-purification of the police. It is related to our efforts for better wages and more appropriate financial treatment, but also the employees must understand that everything we have asked, which is related to the implementation of the ethical code, which is related to the appropriate behavior.

There are 14 million foreign citizens who visit Albania and one inappropriate behavior of one employee is enough to destroy all the work done by the police. We all have to say out loud that the results so far are results that deserve respect, but we know that we are still far from what we should be as an objective to make the police the most trusted institution. Therefore, all the efforts that are made are related to strengthening the fence and the control related to the behavior of police officers. I believe that history has shown that when self-declaration is connected with fact then it falls into a trap. Those who lie will be caught by the police ," said Balla.
