The Kurçaj Bridge in Fushë-Kruje, a Category I Cultural Monument, has undergone restoration by the EU4Culture program, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNOPS in partnership with the Ministry of Culture.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the news on social networks, accompanied by a photo of the Kurçaj Bridge, as a tourist destination that, according to him, should not be missed, while 'serving' the project as an urban renaissance.

 " Kurçaj Bridge in Fushë-Krujë, this treasure of cultural heritage in the middle of a wonderful landscape, built centuries ago, now reborn, is a tourist destination that should not be missed", writes Rama .

The Kurçaj Bridge represents an excellent example of historic regional architecture and engineering achievement, it has the potential to be an integral part of revitalized local and regional walking trails and part of the "linked heritage" approach to sustainable regional tourism.

It is located near the village of Kurçaj, east of Kruja, built in the c. XVIII, served to connect Kruja with the Field of Tirana.

At that time, Politiko.al was interested in the relevant institutions, first in the Durrës Regional Directorate of Culture, and then in the Institute of Cultural Monuments in Tirana.

DRKK clarified that this bridge is a cultural monument of the first category and has not been left to the mercy of fate by the institutions. According to them, this Directorate has occasionally made inspections at the Kurcaj Bridge and the last inspection was two weeks ago. They explained that a project for the restoration has also been made and they were only waiting for the preparation of the fund.
