Replaces Balla, who is Ervin Hoxha, the new interior minister

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today at the end of his speech at the SP Congress that Taulant Balla will no longer be the Minister of the Interior, but will take over the leadership of the Ministry of State for Relations with the Parliament, replacing Elisa Spiropali.

Meanwhile, Balla will be replaced by a surprise name as the new Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha. 

Who is Ervin Hoxha?

The latter for more than 20 years has served in various functions from the executive level to the highest management levels in central and law enforcement institutions of the Albanian state such as: Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, State Police, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice.

He has also performed duties such as: Director of International Relations, Head of the Europol National Unit, Head of the Interpol National Central Office, Director of the Traffic Police, Director of the Directorate for the Protection of Witnesses and Associates of Justice, Director of Tax Investigation and Cleaning of Money, Deputy General Director of the Social Insurance Institute, as well as Cabinet Director and Advisor to several senior officials of the Albanian state.

He held the post as General Director of the Probation Service and recently head of the IKMT.
