Energy price increase, Tabaku: 100,000 families are affected in the most

The democratic deputy, Jorida Tabaku, condemns the increase in the price of energy, at a time when Albanian families are facing a difficult economic crisis.

She says that 100,000 families are affected by the price increase, stressing that the additional cost of buying energy should be covered by the state budget.

The Democrat underlines that the government has set the highest tariff in the region for electricity, 42.8 lek/KWh. He further emphasizes that it is unacceptable for this to be transferred to citizens' pockets.

Jorida Tabak's full reaction

The Energy Regulatory Body with an abusive decision increased the price of electricity for 100 thousand families!

In the worst period of the crisis, in the most difficult period of the crisis where we have a general increase in prices, the answer is not to increase taxes and fees. The Albanian government should bear the costs in the state budget.

500 million euros were spent in the electricity sector and would justify every need that this sector would have. It is unacceptable that the crisis of corruption and the crisis of arrogance is transferred to the pockets of citizens. The government has set the highest tariff in the region for electricity. 42.8 ALL/KWh.

The second highest rate is 12 lek/KH in Kosovo at night. 4 times smaller. It is unacceptable that this is transferred to the pockets of citizens.
