The "Becchetti" case/ PD: Rama's gross abuses, the Albanians will pay 110 million euros
The Democratic Party states that the Albanian state owes Francesco Becchetti another 145 thousand euros that will be added to the 110 million euros, after the closure of the television by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In a statement to the media, DP spokeswoman Floriana Garo said that the obligation of 110 million euros is government nonsense, just because Prime Minister Edi Rama wants to 'shut up those who don't sing the chorus he wants to hear'.
Garo said that the amount will come from the state coffers and that the damage has come only for personal grudges and not for battles related to the public good.
Full statement:
Another 145 thousand euros will be added to the 110 million that the Albanian state owes to Francesco Becchetti after the arbitrary decision of Edi Rama to close the television owned by him.
An international court has not accepted the government's request for annulment of the arbitration decision, charging the Albanian state with the costs of the trial. This finally refutes Rama's claim that Beccheti did not win the trial, and that the Albanian state does not owe the Italian businessman. What remains is the fact that 110 million euros will come out of the state coffers for a governmental stupidity. All with Rama's appetite to shut up the mouths that don't sing the chorus he wants to hear.
The decision may have been Rama's, but the costs are borne by the Albanian taxpayer. Let's be clear: Rama does not pay any kacidhe for the decision he himself made. The amount will come from the state coffers, in other words from the pockets of Albanian citizens. This is what happens when the government makes decisions that harm not only freedom of expression, but also public savings. There are hundreds of millions that the Albanian state loses in international courts due to thoughtless, arbitrary decisions of the government. In addition to Becchet with 110 million, Edi Rama has open battles with two other media owners, who have sent the government's abuses against them to arbitration. The government is within its right to fight its battles, but only for the public good, not personal grudges, and not with taxpayers' money.
The Democratic Party is preparing the file for the "Beccheti case" and other cases of Rama's arrogance and gross abuses, for which the Albanian citizens have paid and are paying.
