The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has issued 5 arrest warrants as part of investigations into cyber attacks from Iran.

Arrest warrants have been signed for 5 officials of the Ministry of the Interior and the Department of Public Administration. They are accused of the criminal offense of abuse of office.

Cyber ​​attacks from Iran occurred throughout the months of July and August, where government systems were hacked and disabled. The e-Albania portal remained paralyzed by not offering services to citizens.

On September 7, the Albanian government decided to cut off diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Accredited Iranian diplomats were expelled from the embassy in Tirana.
