One of the most prominent names on the stage and one of the pioneers of Albanian ballet, Zoica Haxhi, has passed away today.

She passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind an extraordinary artistic legacy.

The news of her death was announced by the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, where it provides details of the artist's career and the awards she won.

Farewell Zoica Haxho, the eternal star of Albanian ballet!

The sad death of the famous ballerina Zoica Haxho. Born on March 28, 1933, she gave form and soul to Albanian ballet, being one of the pioneers of this art that raised it to the highest artistic and human levels.

Since childhood, Zoica had a great love for dancing. With passion and dedication, she pursued her dream, studying in the Soviet Union in the 1950s. Upon her return, she was not just a ballerina at TKOB; she became the heart of the stage, the prima ballerina who captivated the public for 33 years in a row. Her first performance on the stage of the Theater of Opera and Ballet, in the role of Liza in "Kujdesi i kote" (1957), was only the beginning of a brilliant career.

Zoica created a wonderful gallery of roles, embodying unforgettable characters such as Lola, Fadeta, Hajria, Cuca, Nica, Rina and Delina. Through her plasticity, finesse and unique interpretation, she breathed life into every character, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy. The 20 premieres where she excelled are a testament to her class, while the generations she educated as a pedagogue reflect her dedication to sharing her art and vision.

Honored with high awards and titles, such as "Heroine of Work" and the Republic Awards, Zoica remains a symbol of high artistic and spiritual values. Beyond titles and medals, she remains in the hearts of spectators and colleagues as an undying inspiration.
