NATO air operations commander Juan Pablo Sanches spoke from the inauguration of the military base in Kučovo.

In his speech, Sanches described Albania's involvement in NATO defense as a symbol of the alliance's contribution. Sanches said that the military base in Kučovo is an indication that NATO is very engaged in the Balkan region.

Among other things, the NATO commander declared that Albania will be protected within the Alliance.

"Albania's involvement in NATO defense is a symbol of the alliance's contribution. Working together within the air defense system, we guarantee safety and progress to the people, thanks to the efforts made by many of our predecessors and the Albanian peace and defense alliance. This is the beauty of NATO's success. The inauguration of the Kuçova air base shows that our alliance is very engaged in this region, we take Albania's efforts into consideration. Albania is ready to ensure the peace of this country. I am sure that this base will be in accordance with NATO standards within the alliance. These installations help increase military readiness. We must be ready for NATO's plans and operations, this will contribute to peace and security, the impressive activities will lead us to increase our capacities and Albania will be protected within NATO" , declared the NATO commander.
