Albania is ranked 52nd in the Global Peace Index 2025 , among 163 countries assessed in the Institute for Economics and Peace report.
The data shows that our country has suffered a decline in score and position compared to last year, moving from a "more peaceful" category to a level of average peace.
The report analyzes 23 security indicators, including domestic crime, political stability, militarization and potential conflicts.
According to the report, Albania records a decline mainly in internal security indicators and crime perception.
Despite the decline, Albania continues to rank among the relatively safe countries in the region, but the report emphasizes that the 2025 trend suggests a need for improvement in public safety and political stability.
