Worker dies after falling from height at Vlora airport

A worker lost his life while working at the construction site at Vlora airport.

Police announce that DH, 38 years old, died as a result of a fall from a height at the airport under construction in Akureyri. 

After the incident, DN, 45 years old, a resident of Tirana, who holds the position of administrator of the construction company, was arrested in flagrante delicto, and criminal proceedings have been initiated against the US citizen, 41 years old, also from Tirana, with the function of responsible for the works. 

"Following the investigative actions for the incident that occurred on 19.04.2025, in the premises of the airport under construction, in Akërni, where citizen DH, 38 years old, an employee of the construction company, lost his life as a result of a fall from a height, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Vlora Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense of "Violation of safety rules at work", citizen DN, 45 years old, resident of Tirana, with the duty of administrator of the construction company, and initiated criminal proceedings for citizen US, 41 years old, resident of Tirana, with the duty of responsible for works in the same company.

These citizens are suspected of having violated legal obligations for the implementation of technical safety measures in the workplace, which resulted in the death of employee D. H. ", the police announced.
