US Vice President: Europe risks civilizational suicide

US Vice President JD Vance has stepped up his criticism of Europe, declaring that the continent is "at risk of committing civilizational suicide" due to its lack of border protection and allowing millions of immigrants from other parts of the world.

In an interview with Fox News, Vance said that many European countries are "unable or unwilling to control their borders."

"If you have a country like Germany, where several million immigrants come from countries that are completely culturally incompatible with Germany, then it doesn't matter what I think about Europe, because Germany will have killed itself," he said.

He also criticized European states for restricting the freedom of expression of their citizens, “while these citizens are protesting against things like the border invasion, which led to the election of Donald Trump and a number of European leaders.”

It is not the first time that JD Vance has openly expressed his contempt for European liberal elites.

Just a month ago, at the Munich Security Conference, he shocked European leaders with a remarkably candid speech, where he spoke of “the internal threat, Europe’s retreat from some of its most fundamental values.”

He cited the cancellation of an entire electoral process in Romania, the European Commission's efforts to censor freedom of speech, and the decision of the main parties to maintain a blockade against populist parties, which are gaining more and more support.

"I deeply believe that there is no security if you are afraid of the voices, opinions, and conscience that lead your own people."

During his visit to Germany, the vice president met with the co-chair of the right-wing AfD, Alice Weidel, a move that sparked strong reactions from establishment parties.

Regarding his administration's policies, JD Vance stated that under Donald Trump's leadership, they have overturned the pro-immigration policies of Trump's predecessor, Joe Biden, and "we have almost achieved full border security."

“There were places where there were 1,500 illegal crossings a day. Now there are only 30 illegal crossings a day. We have reduced illegal crossings by over 95 percent. And frankly, I think these numbers will continue to fall,” he said. / European Conservative
