Elton John confirms he has lost his sight

Elton John has been open about his vision problems in recent months following a serious eye infection.

And at The Devil Wear's Prada charity gala, the legendary singer-songwriter said his eyesight is currently so bad he couldn't even see the actors performing, writes Gold Radio .

"I've lost my sight and I can't see the stage ," said Elton John.

Ever the pro, he not only stayed for the performance, but also stuck around to talk to the cast and crew of the 2006 film adaptation, for which he wrote the music.

"As some of you may know, I've had problems and now I've lost my sight ," said Elton. "I wasn't able to see the performance, but I enjoyed it."
