"Albania is a difficult place for business", Rama's minister attacks the American Chamber of Commerce after criticism

"Albania is a difficult place for business", Rama's minister

The Minister for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, Edona Bilali, has attacked the head of the American Chamber of Commerce, Enio Jaço, after the latter stated the day before that the business climate in our country is unfriendly.

In a post on Facebook, Bilali writes that Jaço is contradictory in his attitudes in relation to American investments in the country, as he once stated that investments from the USA in Albania have tripled and then says that American investors have encountered problems.

" The head of AmCham 4 days ago (only after statistics with figures were published) claims and expresses satisfaction that American investments in the country have tripled. 3 days later after the publication of the report of the Department of Trade (not updated for 2 years), retrieved by DASH with some changes, it is stated that the problem is the unfriendly business climate. The question that immediately comes to mind is, how does the Albanian leader of AmCham (normally he should contribute to the objective reading of the current situation on the ground) explain the fact that the Americans invested 3 times more in Albania for the last 4 years, while a series other large American investments are in the process of preparation?!

No one denies these problems, but since I have been in this position, I have neither encountered nor heard of any American or European company, which has prevented the business climate in Albania from investing! On the contrary, I have only had very positive reactions from them about the hospitality and treatment in Albania. I heard the same from my colleagues! What a shame when our fellow citizens, even more so in such functions, have a negative impact, without any facts or figures, in the feeding of perceptions that have been deformed for years, either in the public opinion, or in foreign friends and partners! But thankfully, in the end, it remains as always the work with the facts of the work, about which tourism Albania is talking today, with its impressive data", writes the minister.
