The Director General of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, declares that Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku lost his life from the explosion of a mine in the North.

"The killing took place with anti-personnel mines, detonated with tele-conductors and electric batteries that were used by the group. Attacks with rocket launchers have continued in and near the monastery, some 300-400 meters from the place where Sergeant Afrimi was killed," said Hoxha.

The General Director of the Police says that the footage was taken from the cameras of the Kosovo Police armored cars.

"The moment of the attack, and the throw from the upper part, even then luck was on our side and the blind was not shot directly... 4:21 in the morning. The blow with the tongue", said Hoxha.

"Our colleagues continue and go beyond the first barricade. The cars on the side belonged to the police that were attacked and remained at the scene", said Hoxha further.

"The car that was used by sergeant Bunjaku and another car of the Border Police unit", he said, adding that for this reason specialized units are needed.

"The initial attack was first made with explosives, as a result of this attack police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, from the police station in Zveçan, died. So, the Special Police were not attacked because they were not there, but the police patrol of public order".

"We have faced unfair criticism that we are sending the Special Unit to the northern part, but we knew that one day we will face this kind of threat. Our police officers are in constant danger there. The law enforcement officers had gone to verify what happened to the truck, whether it had an accident or how things are, at the moment when they went, explosives were used," said Hoxha.
