The Chief of the Roskovec Police Station, Mariglen Koroveshaj, has revealed details from the operation to rescue 24-year-old Rozalinda Plaka, who was held hostage by her ex-partner, Refit Buzi, after the serious crime in which the young woman's parents were killed.

The police officer, who negotiated for hours with the 35-year-old, says that the perpetrator set conditions, asking him to approach alone and without a weapon, while warning him not to come closer than two meters.

"I approached the place where he was, but he refused to release the girl, as he considered it a guarantee that nothing would happen to her. He asked me to approach alone and unarmed. I complied with his request. When I approached, he asked again to be convinced that I was not armed. We had to do everything so that he would not become more angry, since our goal was to save the hostage's life and the perpetrator himself,"  Koroveshaj recounts.

According to him, after negotiations, the 35-year-old was able to release Rozalinda Plaka, who had suffered injuries to her body from broken glass during the armed attack on her family's apartment.

"When I approached, he told me 'Don't make any more moves, don't come any closer or I'll kill myself'. I backed away and we continued negotiations until it became possible to release the hostage. It was a very dangerous moment. In those moments, you only think about how to save a human life. Every second was crucial," he says.

Immediately after her release, the 24-year-old was urgently transported to Fier Hospital, as she was in a serious psychological condition.

Although the girl was saved, negotiations failed to convince the perpetrator to surrender. Surrounded by police and RENEA forces, Refit Buzi ended his life by shooting himself.

The serious incident occurred a few days ago in the village of Vidhisht, Roskovec. According to the Police, the 35-year-old killed his ex-father-in-law, Kosta Plaka, 58, with a shotgun, seriously injured his ex-mother-in-law, Belere Plaka, 55, who later died in hospital, and then took his ex-fiancée, Rozalinda Plaka, hostage.

Regarding the motive for the incident, the investigations have focused on two main tracks, the conflict after the couple's separation and the author's claims for a sum of 180 thousand pounds, which he sought to be returned after the end of the relationship.
