Kosovo rejects Russian and Chinese vaccines from Albania, Kurti: Only from
Albin Kurti

Albania has undertaken to vaccinate Kosovo teachers, but the Kurti government has refused to allow the process to be carried out with the Russian and Chinese vaccines currently available.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that vaccines will be accepted only by countries that have recognized Kosovo.

" You have to keep in mind that Kosovo, since it is not recognized by many countries in the world, does not have the convenience of receiving vaccines everywhere.

"Our orientation is with the countries that have recognized us, therefore we have our reservation and our attitude towards the various offers that may come to us from non-recognizing countries ", he said.

Even the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia clarified that currently in Albania there are no vaccines available for AstraZeneca and Pfizer, so the vaccination with Chinese doses has been refused.

"In the beginning, we had a generous offer from Prime Minister Rama and Minister Manastirliu to vaccinate health personnel in Albania, where we would organize the transport process. Meanwhile, vaccines came with the first contingent and vaccination of health personnel occurred faster in Kosovo. I have asked the Government of Albania to enable the vaccination of other categories. "Unfortunately, the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines have been spent and only those from China remain , " said the minister.
