The singer of Albanian origin, Eleni Foureira, has recently given an interview in Greece, where she also talked about the difficult beginnings in the path of music.

The 36-year-old spoke about the origin and the reason why she decided to keep it a secret.

"When I was 19 years old I came to Greece and growing up here, I learned that it was bad to be from Albania, to be insulted somehow, but I didn't understand why. Growing up, it started to bother me because every time I was in a group and I told them that I am from Albania, I watched how they would react" , said Foureira.

She also remembers an episode when she felt discriminated against because of her Albanian origin.

"When I went to a record company and they closed the door, they told me. Come now, the Albanian will have a career! But things have changed, I'm very happy," she added .
