"I was not accepted in society", Eleni Foureira talks about keeping

The singer of Albanian origin who has been living in Greece for years - since she was little - Eleni Foureira, has created a very consolidated career, a success that has crossed the Greek borders.

The singer already shows out loud that she is Albanian - her origin was echoed in Eurovision a few years ago, where for the first time three Albanians competed for three different countries: Eleni, Eugent Bushpepa and Ermal Meta.

But before, Eleni has hidden her origin. He has denied his Albanian roots. The singer explained that she did this because she felt excluded from society and that she was not accepted because of her origin.

"When you are a child and you are not accepted by society because of your origin, you feel weak and you are afraid that you will not be given the opportunity. When I realized that people loved Ellen, I felt the power to say it. My real name is Entela Fureraj. I got to the point where I was afraid to say where I was from. Not everyone loves me but I feel good with that too. I am proud to have been born in Albania, but Greece is my homeland, I love it. "It's the place I love," she said on a Greek program.

But the singer also shows her love for Greece and that she considers her homeland:

"Greece is my whole life, this is my homeland. The bread had a different taste. But I had a hard time understanding why the children were harassing us. There were two foreign children from Albania at school. Albanians were not accepted by society at that time."
