"I have rejected resignation 3 times", Rama makes Balluk 'untouchable': Only I set the conditions for his departure

"I have rejected resignation 3 times", Rama makes Balluk

Prime Minister Edi Rama admitted today at the meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group that he has rejected Belinda Balluku's resignation three times.

"There is no resignation under pressure from a power that has left its own territory and entered the territory of the independence of the executive branch ," said Rama, openly attacking the judges of the Constitutional Court of Albania.

He added that only the executive has the right to determine the terms of resignation, sending a clear message to the judiciary.

"When the conditions are met, this is not determined by the prosecutor, the preliminary hearing judge, the media, or the people's court," Rama said.

Rama:  As for the specific case, it is in another process and is no longer related to the suspension. Belinda Balluku has submitted her resignation to me three times. I have them in my file. Once when she was charged, the second time when she was first suspended, and the third time after the Constitutional Court of Albania did not make a decision. All three times I was the one who rejected the resignations. Because resignation under pressure from a power that has left its territory and entered the territory of the independence of the executive branch, there is no such thing.

I am grateful that she did not insist, but continued to face all that mud on her face, because I do not accept the resignation until the conditions are met. And when the conditions are met, this is not determined by the prosecutor, nor the judge of the preliminary hearing, nor the media, nor the people's court. Because, if we were to enter into this logic, we would pave the way for a story that would seriously damage the capacity of the executive branch to govern.
