Ilir Gjokaj, the suspect in the murder of 19-year-old Sheila Bakija in Tuz, Montenegro, surrendered to the police in the late evening. Gjokaj has been on the run since September 30.

It is learned that on August 26, Sheila had filed a criminal report with the police against Ilir Gjokaj, because the latter had threatened her with life. The police report states that Gjokaj threatened Sheila while she was at her parents' house, telling her that "neither in heaven nor on earth will you be with anyone else".

"On August 25, 2021, around 23:00, I was at my parents' house, Karabuško Polje BB, Ilir came, entered the yard and climbed on the terrace. When I saw him, I tried to hold the door, but Iliri pushed him and entered the house. Then he threatened me: You will have no one else in heaven or on earth. I will not let you marry another! Blood will be shed for this! Your life is in my hands! Then he left. My younger brothers and sisters were present at home, shocked by Illyrian behavior. "Because of everything Ilir Đokaj is doing to me, I feel threatened and I am afraid for my safety", she stated in her report.

The assassination of Sheila Bakija shocked the Albanian town of Tuz in Montenegro. The incident happened a few days ago, when Ilir Gjokaj shot dead his partner Sheila Bakija, her grandmother and seriously injured the 19-year-old's father.
