Spiropali vs Balluku: the silent rivalry that is rewriting the balances in the SP

A detail of social networks has attracted attention amidst this political "stirrup": according to observations, Belinda Balluku appears to follow a large number of ministers and former cabinet officials, including names such as Ulsi Manja, Bledi Çuçi, Ogerta Manastirliu and others, while she does not follow former Foreign Minister, Elisa Spiropali, on Instagram.

But unlike Balluku, Spiropali follows the socialist party.

DRIVING IN TIME

In recent days, allegations of early rivalry between them have also come back to attention, both in political terms and in the internal organization of campaigns.

According to some media reports, it has been mentioned that Spiropali's dismissal from the post of Foreign Minister was presented as a decision influenced by internal balances and her relations with Balluk.

Also, in a parliamentary development, Spiropali was asked by MP Agron Shehaj why Balluku does not resign from office after being indicted for corruption, but continues to appear side by side with Edi Rama.

Spiropali has stated that "there are no untouchables in Albania" and that everyone is responsible before the law and citizens.

"There are no untouchables in Albania. Everyone is responsible before the law, everyone, everyone is responsible before their own face and before their own electorate," said Spiropali.

Some reports also mentioned that in the political organizations in Tirana and in the division of electoral roles, Spiropali was left out of some engagements, which was interpreted as a sign of changes in the internal balances in the majority.

On October 3, 2025, Rama, while distributing tasks and roles for the Tirana campaign, excluded Spiropali from this campaign.

Rama continued the irony with the former Foreign Minister when he said that she would "stay around the world."

SPIROPALI'S ABANDONMENT AND ATTACKS BY "FRIENDS"

We emphasize that it appears that Spiropali has been "abandoned" by the majority of the socialist camp. Minister of Education and Sports Mirela Kumbaro was asked about Spiropali's statements, and she stated that "Europe remains just a rhetoric for the socialist majority."

After the government meeting, Kumbaro said that he belongs to the generation that had the slogan "I love Albania like all of Europe" and grew up with this slogan.

She did not spare any stings for Spiropali, as she stated that the SP is close to realizing this slogan and that the majority responds only with work.

" You ask me to give an opinion about opinions, while I am here today to give an opinion about work. I belong to the generation with the slogan "I love Albania like all of Europe", and I now have the responsibility to be close to the generation that is very close to this and has the political responsibility for Albania in Europe.

Kjo matet me punë që Shqipëria ka bërë në këto 35 vite tranzicion. Sot jemi në kohën kur kjo matet me centimetra, matet me punë dhe dokumentacion dhe unë sapo iu dhashë provën që një nga këto, janë edhe VKM-të e miratuara”, tha Kumbaro.

Edhe Kryeministri Edi Rama ka pranuar hapur dështimin e Ministrisë së Jashtme, duke e krahasuar atë me RTSH-në dhe duke e cilësuar një strukturë të pareformuar dhe jashtë realitetit.

Rama u shpreh se edhe përpjekjet ligjore të ndërmarra deri më sot kanë qenë thjesht “makijazh”, pa sjellë ndryshimin e nevojshëm, ndërsa diplomacia shqiptare, sipas tij, nuk i përgjigjet sfidave të kohës, as rolit gjithnjë e më të rëndësishëm të diasporës.

"Sa i përket ligjit për diplomacinë publike. Ministria e Jashtme është si Televizioni Publik Shqiptar. Është një tjetër dështim i madh i yni. E kam thënë dhe po e them. Nuk është një institucion në funksion të këtyre sfidave sepse nuk është reformuar asnjëherë.

Edhe një ligj që e bëmë nuk ishte ligj apo reformë, ishte tualet. Makijazh! Ligji duhet të hapë rrugën për reformë, për të futur ajrin e pastër. Shqipëria ka sot njerëz plot jashtë në diasporë.

Diaspora është pjesë e elektoratit të rëndësishme. Gradat janë marrë peng nga spikerat e politikës së jashtme të televizionit, as televizion nuk është se ata as nuk dalin. Sa herë shkoj në atë ministri, më duket sikur atje është vetëm ministri, sekretarja dhe roja”, tha Rama.

Po ashtu  kreu i i grupit parlamentar të PS, Taulant Balla, deklaroi se do mbledhte grupin për të sanksionuar Elisa Spiropalin, për mungesën e saj në seancën e 12 marsit ku u votua imuniteti i Ballukt.

Deklarata e Ballës nuk ka kaluar pa një kundërpërgjigje nga Spiropali, e cila ka reaguar publikisht me një postim në Facebook. Ish-ministrja e Jashtme i kërkon Ballës të thërrasë mbledhjen e grupit pa vonesë, duke u kujdesur që diskutimi të jetë i hapur.

“Taulant, e lexova me vonesë një deklaratë tënden publike. Jam plotësisht dakord. Nëse çështja kërkon konsultim me grupin parlamentar, atëherë është pikërisht ajo që duhet bërë pa vonesë.

Thirre grupin dhe zhvillojmë një diskutim të plotë. Vendimmarrja kolektive është forca e grupit të PS dhe garancia e legjitimitetit politik. Çdo qëndrim që del nga një diskutim i hapur, i troçtë dhe i ndërgjegjshëm, meriton respekt, pavarësisht drejtimit që merr.

Rëndësi ka që vendimi të jetë i menduar, i argumentuar dhe në përputhje me përgjegjësinë që kemi përballë publikut”, shkruan Spiropali.
