Kurti: We will plan a 14th salary for workers in Kosovo!

On the eve of the early parliamentary elections, the leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, during the presentation of the curriculum for the next four years, said that from 2026, the legal definition of the 13th salary for the public and private sectors will begin, while the government's goal remains the gradual planning of the 14th salary.

"From 2026, we will begin to legally define the 13th salary for the public sector, but also for the private sector. After the dialogue with the private sector, our goal is to gradually plan the 14th salary in coordination with businesses and workers.

"Because every family should have more security for holidays, seasonal expenses and family needs. Meanwhile, businesses should have more stability, less employee turnover and a safer and more motivated workforce," Kurti said.

He added that anyone who loses their job will not be immediately left without income, as the Social Security Fund will guarantee financial support for every worker for a certain period.

"Anyone who loses their job will no longer be immediately left without income, the Social Security Fund will guarantee financial support for every worker for a certain period," Kurti said.

The 13th salary in the public sector was implemented in March of this year by the Government of Kosovo for public sector workers.

In addition to supporting other sectors, Kurti also mentioned increasing financial support and regulating the agricultural products market for farmers during the next mandate./Kosovapress
