MP Lulzim Basha has signed a contract with Sonoran Policy Group LLC, for lobbying in the United States of America. The contract was signed on February 19, 2025 and ends on October 31, 2026.

The following document was registered with the US Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), an agreement reached on February 19. Apparently, Basha signed under the status of “individual” and not as a representative of a political party or foreign government.

Meanwhile, the objectives of this agreement include "Raising awareness of Albania's challenges on its path to ensuring the rule of law, a functional democracy, and the protection of fundamental freedoms, paying particular attention to the fight against corruption and organized crime, and improving the competitiveness and business climate to attract investment from the United States to Albania."

Apparently, this was the reason for Basha's trip to the US, where not long ago, photos of him were circulating in the media, walking the streets of Washington.

The contract signed on February 19, 2025 and another signed on June 11, 2019 are not the first lobbying contract that Lulzim Basha has signed with Sonoran Policy Group.

In 2018, Basha had a similar contract with this lobbying firm with offices in Washington, DC. According to documents published by the State Department, in 2017 Basha spent 825 thousand USD on several lobbying companies in the US. Dosja.al
