Linda Rama recounts her acquaintance with the Prime Minister: Marriage to Edin

Linda Rama has shared details about her acquaintance with the country's prime minister. She said that they first met in 2002, when Edi Rama was mayor of Tirana. 8 years later, they crowned their love with marriage.

"We made a long appearance on a television show, we explained ourselves and there I was actually introduced as Edi Rama's wife. We got married in 2010, I met Edi in 2002, in the context of making a report on human development, which is one of the most dignified publications and the reason was because the topic of the report was about decentralization and since Tirana was moving rapidly towards deepening this process, he was invited by the group of experts, I met him there for the first time."

However, she reveals that her marriage to Prime Minister Edi Rama "cost" her 3 resignations.


"In 2010, that week of my marriage to Edin, it caused me to resign 3 times without anyone asking me to, not because there was any ethical problem, but my reasoning system and my internal ethics told me this."

I resigned from the position of head of the office where I worked, one resignation was leaving the auditorium as a lecturer because I was teaching public policy at the master's level, and the third resignation was from the board of the Soros Foundation.

"There was strong resistance from the board not to accept my resignation, because they found it impossible to accept that Ed's position at that time was an execution bullet for my career that had come as a result of the contributions and merits I had. I felt very good because there I understood the degree of maturity of those people and the insistence on not creating a precedent that could then resonate as a reason for others,"  declared Linda Rama.
