The United Kingdom Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, met with the acting president, Albulena Haxhiu, while emphasizing the need for political parties to show compromise after the June 7 elections.

In a post, he notes that during the meeting, the importance was emphasized that the new legislature after the elections be able to elect the president, in order to avoid new elections and the loss of opportunities for Kosovo.

“I met with the Acting President and the Acting Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, this morning. We discussed the importance of a new Assembly being able to elect a president after the elections, to avoid further elections and missed opportunities for Kosovo.

"I stressed the need for political parties to compromise to avoid such a scenario. We also discussed the appalling abuse of female politicians on social media and hoped that all party leaders would make it clear that this is unacceptable," his response said.
