The Kosovo Specialist Chambers have published footage from the premises of the Detention Center in The Hague, where detainees are being held before and during court proceedings.

The published images show fitness areas, sports fields, a daily lounge area for socializing, as well as rooms dedicated to meetings with family members.

According to the Special, persons in detention have access to fresh air, physical activities and the opportunity to participate in religious services.

"Defendants who are detained before or during their trial in the Kosovo Specialist Chambers are held in the Detention Centre in The Hague. There, they have access to fresh air and exercise, can socialize, receive visitors and participate in religious services," the announcement says.

The notice also explains the reasons why the detention measure is being imposed or extended.

“Detention before or during a trial shall be carried out only when necessary to prevent a significant risk, e.g. the risk that the defendant will attempt to intimidate or influence witnesses. Every two months, the judges of the Specialist Chambers will review the detention to consider whether it is still necessary and reasonable ,” the announcement further states.
