Joint government with PD? Rama: Ready with a counter-offer if they do not insult us in English anymore

Prime Minister Edi Rama has again extended his hand of cooperation to the Democratic Party and invited him to build a new political climate.

Invited to the show "Opinion" Rama said that he will address a counter-offer to the DP if the opposition is ready to "stop cursing Albania in English".

When asked by journalists if this offer goes to the joint government, Rama said that he is ready to host any kind of political project for the future of the country.  

Edi Rama : The opposition is welcome and I am very ready to build a new political climate and try together not to convey to Albanians every time they turn on the TV all that negative energy as a result of a policy that is 90% war personal and 10% debate on issues.

Robert Rakipllari:  For example, local elections. The monist local government and some local government officials who have been appointed, despite the decision of the Constitutional Court, are ready to re-run the election to give it legitimacy.

Edi Rama : We did not take 100% of the local government, they left it in our hands. Anything is possible where there is a will.

Robert Rakipllari:  Including local elections that this is news?

Edi Rama:  You want the news for tomorrow, but I do not give it in this form. Why should we do such a thing if such a thing is not part of a vision, and a joint work not to become one, but for what things we can be together that are of national interest and there are things for which we can be together of national interest.

Blendi Fevziu:  Can we go to a joint government?

Edi Rama:  If the DP says we are ready in English not to curse Albania anymore, it would give me the motivation to return with the others with a strong counter-offer. If they give us the solemn word that we will not curse Albania in English anymore.

Blendi Fevziu:  Going to a joint government?

Edi Rama: Nuk na e kanë bërë këtë. Kur ata të thonë që jemi gati të mos e shajmë Shqipërinë në anglisht, do jetë një kontribut i madh për Shqipërinë.

Blendi Fevziu: A shkon deri në qeveri të përbashkët?

Edi Rama: Çfarë qeverie të përbashkët, me kë?

Blendi Fevziu: Nëse opozita mund të ishte e gatshme e shihni të vlefshme ta ftoni për qeveri të përbashkët, qoftë dhe me qeveri pilot për dy vjet apo..?

Edi Rama:  I do not go to questions one by one. I am ready to look forward to any kind of political project for the future of the country. When I was in opposition we made several alternatives. I am open and ready. I think that even the territorial reform, even though we have opposite opinions, we can sit down and discuss and confront the reasons why we have opposite opinions.
